3 . INITIAL OPERATION Contents: – smart Gateway – Power supply unit – Ethernet-cable To update the firmware of the smart Gateway: An Internet connection is required for installation of the gateway. To be able to use all functions of the gateway we recommend to update the firmware. 1. - Page 7 The correct location for the gateway: – We recommend installing the gateway near the garden window. – Only use the product indoors. – Do not use in cellar or nearby metal plates or engines. – Radio transmission may be disturbed by external influences such as electric motors or defective electrical devices.

- Page 9 To operate via ethernet cable (recommended): 1. Download the GARDENA smart App from the App Store (Apple) or from Google Play. 2. Follow the instructions in the app.
- Page 10 To connect to a Wi-Fi network: The LAN cable must be unplugged in order to activate the configuration network (yellow Internet LED illuminates). You can use the GARDENA smart App to control all GARDENA smart system products from anywhere at any time. The free GARDENA smart App is available on the App Store (Apple) and on Google Play. You can integrate all GARDENA smart system products via the app. -

5 . MAINTENANCE To clean the gateway: No caustic / abrasive cleaning agents should be used. v Clean gateway with a damp cloth (do not use solvent). 6 . STORAGE To put into storage: The product must be stored away from children. v Do not store the product outdoors if not in use. -

10. DISPOSAL Disposal of the gateway: (according to Directive 2012/19/EU) The product must not be disposed of to normal household waste. It must be disposed of in line with local environmental regulations. IMPORTANT!
