WARNING
To reduce the risk associated with choking, do not allow children under 3 years of age to have access to
small parts during the installation of this product. The disposable filter cartridge should be replaced every 6 months at the rated
capacity, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow rate occurs.
If you have questions, or to order additional filter cartridges, please contact 866-389-8827 or ascs@lowes.com.
Water Filter Cartridge
The water filter cartridge can be located in several different locations on your appliance based on the model of your refrigerator
(i.e. on the left door of the fresh food compartment, in the rear of the fresh food compartment on either the upper right or the upper left
side, between the crisper pans and finally in the toe grille located at the bottom of your appliance). Please refer to your refrigerator
owner's manual for the specific location of your filter.
When to Replace the Filter
The Dispenser LCD located on the exterior on the refrigerator has a "replace water filter" alert that will illuminate in orange when the
life of the filter reaches 90% of usage. Once 100% of filter usage is reached the water filter status light will change to read "expired" in
red. At the same time as the status light changes to read "expired", a confirm filter change indicator will illuminate just below the
replace water filter indicator with a flashing bar. Press and hold for 3 seconds, a countdown to reset will illuminate and when the reset
is complete, the "expired" indicator will turn off. If your refrigerator is different, please refer to your owner's manual for filter reset
instructions.
CAUTION
To reduce the risk associated with property damage due to water leakage, read and follow instructions before
installation and use of this system. Installation and use MUST comply with all state and local plumbing codes.
Removing/Installing the Filter Cartridge
Refer to your refrigerator owner's manual and follow the removal/installation procedure as they have outlined.
Procedure:
Twist the current filter to the left to remove it from the dispenser. It is normal to experience a small amount of dripping water after the
filter is removed.
Important Suggestions:
1. Before installation, run tap water through the new filter to experience better flow immediately following installation. There may still
be some sputtering from the dispenser even if this pre-installation suggestion is done. It is important to know that water sputtering
after installation is normal to see. Air is being removed from the filter, to create a constant flow of water.
2. Take the replacement filter and position the top up into the dispenser.
3. Begin turning the new filter to the right while applying slight pressure upwards to tighten the filter to the holder.
4. The filter should turn about 1/2 of a full rotation to secure into correct position.
5. Once the new filter is secure in the holder, run the water for about seven minutes (which equivalents to around 3.5 gallons).
IMPORTANT NOTES: The new filter should raise itself into the correct position while turning to the right. DO NOT force the new filter
to over tighten when replacing. After installation, if there is a 'RESET WATER FILTER' button present on the dispenser (only on
certain models) – press and hold this for three seconds before running water.
