From the display options menu you will access to all the special settings. Follow these intructions:

If the picture should flicker when you pause a DVD, try changing the still mode settings.
1 Select "Still state"; then select a value with

"Auto": let the player choose the best format for still
picture: "Frame" for film or "Field" for video.
However, it may sometimes be necessary to select manually
to obtain the highest still picture quality.

"Field": when still picture shakes (video material).
• Still field: only one field (half of the video information)
is displayed on the TV screen, so the apparent resolution is
low. However, there is no blurring on the screen.

"Frame": for clearer picture definition (film material).
• Still frame: the two fields are displayed, alternately, on
the TV screen, so the image is blurry. However, the image
quality is better than field images.
