If your deep fryer does not work properly

Problem and possible causes
The deep fryer does not work
• The fryer is not plugged in.
• The on-off switch with pilot light is not
set to I.
• There isn't enough oil.
Unpleasant odours
• The oil has deteriorated.
• Unsuitable oil has been used.
The frying oil overflows
• The Maximum oil filling mark of the
bowl has been exceeded.
• Overfilling the basket with food.
• The basket is misshapen.
• Mixture of different oils and fats.
• Not changing the oil often enough.
• Oil emulsifies violently, the food is wet
or covered with ice (frozen food).
• Using the wrong oil.
The foods do not become golden, and remain soft
• Pieces of food too thick and contain
too much water/ice.
• Too much food is being cooked at the
same time and the cooking oil is no
longer at the right temperature.
• The frying oil temperature may not be
high enough ; the thermostat is set
incorrectly (depending on model).
If the problem remains, check with your stockist or an approved Service Centre.
Any repairs must only be carried out by an approved Servicing Centre with the
manufacturer's own replacement parts.

Solutions
• Check that the cord is correctly plugged in.
• Set the on-off switch to I.
• Fill the bowl up to the Maximum level.
• Completely renew the oil content (maximum
8 to 12 uses).
• Use a good quality, blended vegetable oil.
• Check the oil level (Maximum), and remove
the excess.
• Check that the basket is not overfilled.
• Change your basket.
• Empty and clean the bowl. Refill the bowl
with only one type of oil.
• Remove the particles of ice from frozen
foods and dry the foods throroughly OR
lower the basket very slowly.
• Only use vegetable oils/fats (see p. 4).
• As a test, try a longer cooking time.
• Fry the foods in small quantities (particularly
frozen foods) see maximum recommended
quantities - p.4.
• Set the thermostat to the recommended
temperature (depending on model).
