Mounting the protective cover (16)
for cutting (Fig. 6)
ATTENTION
When cutting with bonded abrasives, always use the
protective cover for cutting.
1. Switch the product off and remove the battery as de-
scribed in Inserting/removing the battery (18) in the
battery mount (19) (Fig. 1, 7).
2. Push the protective cover (16) onto the cover (4) until
it engages.
3. When removing, the protective cover (16) must be
pulled forward slightly in order to release it.

Adjusting the protective cover (4)
(Fig. 2, 5)
WARNING
Always use the angle grinder with the protective cover.
The protective cover must be attached securely to the
angle grinder. Adjust it so that the highest degree of
safety is achieved, i.e. the smallest possible part of the
grinding wheel is revealed to the operator. The protec-
tive cover is intended to protect the operator from frag-
ments and accidental contact with the grinding wheel.
WARNING
Make sure that the protective cover is mounted at least
at the same angle as the additional handle. Otherwise,
you can be injured on the roughing and cutting wheel.
1. Rotate the protective cover (4) into the required posi-
tion (working position). Make sure that the protective
cover (4) is positioned so that the protective cover fix-
ing (13) sits above one of the 5 cambers (14) of the
protective cover (4) (Fig. 2).
ATTENTION
Make sure that the protective cover fixing sits firmly in
the respective camber.

Mounting/changing the roughing/
cutting wheel
ATTENTION
Always wear protective gloves when changing the
roughing/cutting wheel.
Observe the dimensions of the roughing or cutting
wheels.
The diameter of the hole must fit the receptacle
flange without play.
Do not use reduction pieces or adapters.
Note:
Always use dirt-free discs.
WARNING
Danger of injury!
Only press the spindle locking button when the recepta-
cle spindle is stationary.
1. Push the spindle locking button (5) to block the gear.
2. Undo the clamping nut (7) using the two-hole assem-
bly key (10).
3. Place the roughing or cutting wheel onto the recepta-
cle flange (8) with the labelled side facing the product.
4. Then place the clamping nut (7) back onto the recep-
tacle spindle (9) with the raised side facing upwards.

Note:
The collar of the clamping nut points upwards so that a
thin grinding disc can be clamped securely.
1. Push the spindle locking button (5) to block the gear.
2. Tighten the clamping nut (7) using the two-hole as-
sembly key (10) again.

Note:
The collar of the clamping nut points downwards so that
the grinding disc can be attached securely to the recepta-
cle spindle.
1. Push the spindle locking button (5) to block the gear.
2. Tighten the clamping nut (7) using the two-hole as-
sembly key (10) clockwise.
Note:
If the disc runs unevenly or vibrates after changing, this
disc must be replaced immediately.
• As a precaution after a disc change, allow the product
to run for 60 seconds at maximum speed. Pay atten-
tion to any unusual noises or sparks.
• Check whether all fastening parts are attached cor-
rectly.
• Make sure that the direction of rotation arrow (if pres-
ent) on the cutting or roughing wheels* (including dia-
mond cutting wheels*) and the direction of rotation of
the product (direction of rotation arrow on the product
head) match.

WARNING
Danger of injury!
Remove the battery from the power tool before carrying
out any work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance, tool
change, etc.) and when transporting and storing it.
There is a risk of injury if the on/off switch is operated
unintentionally.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50°C and does not fall below -20°C during work.
ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V IXES series and may on-
ly be operated with batteries of this series. Batteries
may only be charged with battery chargers of this se-
ries. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
