The "overlap prevention" feature reduces the background in the overlap area by having the press
disengage the relevant BID after a repeat length of a printed job.

For the overlap prevention to work properly, printing is possible only in step mode, and not as continued
printing. (It is impossible to correct the mode during print, although the window is enabled).
The "overlap prevention" feature supports only jobs in which the Repeat Length is ≥ job length. The
feature will not allow reducing the Silver separation length to be less than the minimum repeat length
allowed by the press.
If the "overlap prevention" feature is activated and there is still a heightened level of background in the
overlapped area, troubleshoot the issue as described in
NOTE: The overlap prevention parameters will not be saved if a job is removed from the press, or the
press is shut down.

Manual overlap adjustments

Follow these steps to adjust the background overlap manually.
Manual adjustments to prevent / reduce background in the overlap area between two consecutive
spreads/images are recommended for "fine tuning" when the automatic mode (see above) does not
provide a proper correction.
Manual adjustments are limited. In cases where overlapping still exists after the automatic adjustments,
it is recommended to first perform BID Engage calibration and only then —if there is still overlapping—
perform manual fine-tune corrections.
