    W H 5 0 0 0 - D D R A I N A G E P U M P THANKS FOR CHOOSING OUR PRODUCT This smart pump is designed for easy water  removal from flat open surfaces like Pool covers, Flat roofs, Flooded Basements, Bathtubs, Kitchen, Shower stalls, etc. INTENDED USE: This smart pump is controlled by an electrical sensor to protect the pump from running dry, instead of a traditional float switch and mechanical vertical switch. Do not use the product where there is a risk of causing a fire or an explosion; e.g., in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. The product can create sparks, which may  ignite the flammable liquids, gases, or dust.  READ AND FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE PUMP Compare the incoming voltage and frequency of your electrical circuit with the data on the model plate.
  • Page 5 ⚠ S PECIFIC OPERATION WARNING This pump is not designed to handle salt water, brine, laundry discharge, or any other  application which may contain caustic chemicals, highly chlorinated water,  and/or foreign materials.   DO NOT pump flammable or explosive fluids such as gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, solvents,  thinners, etc.  DO NOT use in a flammable and/or explosive atmosphere. ONLY pump clear water. Improper use  could result in death or serious injury. If using pump to drain a vessel containing heated water, allow water time to cool to  ambient  temperature before pumping the water. Failure to do so may cause pump failure or  property damage.  This pump is not suitable for use with aquatic life. It is not designed to run 24/7 Pump damage or failure  could occur if used in these applications and will void the warranty.  If using pump to drain a vessel of water make sure the pump is not used while people are in, or  in‐contact with the water.  ⚠ PLUG EXTENSION CORDS WARNING Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition.     During the time periods and subject to conditions hereinafter set forth, WATERHOUSE will repair or replace to the original user or consumer any portion of your new WATERHOUSE product which proves defective due to material or workmanship of WATERHOUSE contact your nearest authorized WATERHOUSE service station for warranty service.
  • Page 7 ⚠ B EFORE USE Inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for loose hardware, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, damaged and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. For best pump performance, unwind the hose before starting the pump. This will help remove any kinks or binds in the hose and allow the unit to pump with less restriction.
