I've recently had a new heat pump installed with an AprilAire 2416 Air Cleaner. In the installation manual, "Figure 4 Upflow Installation" implies that the inside opening on the plenum box side of the cleaner can be smaller than the opening on the return duct side. My cleaner is installed with a 23x15 on the return duct side and a much smaller 23x6 opening on the plenum box side.That seems likely to restrict airflow and possibly cause extra noise and extra strain on the blower. How concerned should I be?
