For Those Who Wish To Use MIDI
Those satisfied with playing the piano by itself need not
read the following.
About MIDI...
The MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) stan-
dard was created to provide for the exchange of perfor-
mance information among electronic musical instru-
ments and computers.
The MIDI Connectors
Take a look at the rear panel of your piano. You should
be able to quickly find the two MIDI sockets. These con-
nectors enable the piano to 'converse' with other MIDI-
equipped units. The two connectors function as follows:

* MIDIIN Connector
This connector is where messages from other MIDI-
equipped units are received, and can be likened to the
"ears" which listen to what the other instrument has to
convey.
MIDI OUT Connector
From
this connector,
messages
are sent out to other
MIDI-equipped units. It can be likened to the "mouth"
in the ongoing dialogue between the units.
In order to enable communication between two devices,
you need to run a cable, such as shown below, between
their respective MIDI connectors.
