Installation
When you're ready to connect the TRS-80 to
the RS-232-C jack on your
Computer,
follow the
procedure described
below.
For specific
information on connecting and using the
RS-232-C interface, see your Computer's owner's
manual.
Important Note for Model I users: Before a
TRS-80 Model I can be used as an AUXILIARY
COMPUTER, the
COMM/TERM
Switch on the
RS-232-C board must be set to
TERM.
See the
RS-232-C owner's manual for specific instructions.
(If a Model
I is used as a CENTRAL
COMPUTER,
the COMM/TERM switch can be set to either
COMM or TERM.
)
If your AUXILIARY COMPUTER is a Model
II,
connect the cable to CHANNEL A. Be sure to
attach the TERMINATOR PLUG to CHANNEL
B.
1.
Attach one end of the Controller-to-Central
cable to the Network

Controller jack
labeled
CENTRAL.
2. Attach the other end of the
Controller-to-Central cable to the RS-232-C
jack on the CENTRAL COMPUTER.
3. Attach one end of the
Controller-to-Auxiliary cable to the jack
labeled
AUXILIARY 1
(Auxiliary Station
#1
)
on the Controller.
4. Attach the other end of the
Controller-to-Auxiliary cable to the RS-232-C
jack on the AUXILIARY COMPUTER specified
as Auxiliary
#

5. Continue connecting
Controller-to-Auxiliary cables one at a time
- first to the
Controller,
then to the
AUXILIARY
COMPUTERS.
6.
Connect the Network
Cont

Power
Supply by inserting the round Power
Supply Plug into the jack labeled
POWER
on the back of the Controller. Plug the
other end of the Power Supply into a wall
outlet.
Warning! Do not attempt to make
connections
t
o the Network

Controller
with
cables other than those supplied. Use only the
supplied UL-listed AC adaptor.
