Punch all twelve holes (in one column) in a car-
riage tape.
2.
Seat detent against detent wheel.
3.
With the punched tape on the contact roll and the
detent seated in the detent wheel, position the
contact roll as follows:
NOTE: There is a locking screw on top of each
contact roll set screw. Remove the top screw
and loosen the bottom screw to adjust carriage
contact roll (Figure 4-36).

No brush or even a brush strand should make

Check 3a by connecting one lead of an ohm-
meter on the common brush. Run the other
