A 9 mm wrench or socket wrench is
required
to
assemble
the
three
speed shift cable.
NOTE
This unit is shipped WITHOUT GAS¬
OLINE or OIL. After assembly, see
separate engine manual for proper
fuel and engine oil recommenda¬
tions.

1. Remove the lawn mower, loose parts, hard¬
ware pack and literature from the carton.
Make certain all parts and literature have been
removed before the carton Is discarded.
2. Extend all control cables and place on the
floor. Be careful not to bend or kink control
cables.
3. Place lower handle in position over weld pins
in handle mount brackets on deck. Make cer¬
tain the instruction label on the lower handle
can be read from the operating position.
Secure by placing two hairpin cotters (G) in in-
_ner hole on weld pins. See figure 2.
NOTE
It may be necessary to bend the
ends of the lower handle inward
slightly to obtain a snug fit against
the bracket.
NOTE
There are two (2) holes in the handle
mount brackets. Place hairpin cot¬
ter in the inner hole for operation.
The outer hole is for storage.
4. Place handle panel and upper handle in posi¬
tion
over lower
handle.
Control
housing
should be on the
left
side of the handle.
Secure upper handle and handle panel with
two curved carriage bolts (A), lock washers (B)
—and hex nuts (C). See figure 3.
NOTE
Reference to left or right side of
machine is determined from oper¬
ator's position at the handle facing
forward.
