EXPLANATION OF TERMS
Device for Self-testing
Device for self-testing' means any device intended by the
manufacturer to be used by lay persons.
Ovulation
Ovulation is the term used to describe the release of the
unfertilized egg cell from the ovary. Ovulation takes place
around the middle of the woman's menstrual cycle and is
the prerequisite for the fertilization of the egg by a sperm in
the fallopian tube.
Estrogen
Estrogens are the most important female sex hormones.
Estrogens promote the maturation of a fertile egg cell.
Estrogen promotes the blood flow through the endometrium.
The cervix opens and cervical mucus becomes permeable
for sperm.
Ferning-pattern
The ferning phenomenon is a very characteristic formation of
fern-like salt crystals in the dried saliva that occurs under the
influence of estrogen. This phenomenon occurs just before
ovulation.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

Failure to observe the intended purpose as well as a
lack of knowledge about the use of Geratherm
control can lead to stress, injury or incorrect determina-
tion of the fertile days.
