Setting the security code
The security code is required
when you want to operate the
answering function from a
remote phone away from home.
Also, you can set a different
security code to each of the 3
message boxes to protect
messages in each box from
being listened to by others.
The security codes cannot be
set while the secured message
function is on.
% and # cannot be used as
security code.
Try not to forget the security code
as it cannot be checked.
SET/REC button
Message box buttons

Press SET/REC.

Press the desired message box button (BOX1, BOX2, or
BOX3).
You hear the recorded instructions to prompt you to enter a
security code.

Use the dialing keys to enter a two-digit number
between 00 to 99.
The security code for the selected message box appears on the
display.

Press SET/REC.
You hear a long confirmation beep, indicating the security code is
registered.
@ Changing the security code
Repeat steps 1 to 4.
You cannot change the security code if the secured message
function is turned on.
