2.5 SERVICE
Your power tool should be serviced by a qualified specialist using only standard spare parts. This will
ensure that it meets the required safety standards.
Special safety instructions for Reciprocating Saw
Hold the machine only by the insulated handle surfaces when carrying out tasks during which it is possible that
the tool inserts will come across hidden power cables or its own cagle. Contact with a cable that carries power can
subject the metal parts of the machine to current and lead to electrical shock.
Only use sharp, undamaged saw blades. Cracked, bent or dull saw blades should be replaced immediately.
Match the tool inserts and stroke rate to the machine. Pay attention to even feed.
The machine should only be operated with the saw shoe mounted. When working, the saw shoe should always rest
against the work piece.
Always start the machine before introducing it to the work piece.
Do not process material that contains asbestos. When working with any other materials containing fibers, use dust
protection masks and dust extraction systems.
When machines are used outdoors, they must be connected via a residual current circuit breaker. Extension cable
and plug must be approved for use outdoors.
Do not brake the saw blade by applying pressure to the sides.
Secure the work piece to prevent it from slipping by using tensioning mechanisims.
Make sure that cable always lead away behind the work place
During operation, always guide the machine with both hands and take a firm stand.
PREPATATION AND ADJUSTMENT
• Changing the saw blade
Remove saw dust from the saw blade holder. Rotate the lock of the saw blade holder as far as it will
go to the right and hold in this position. Pull saw blade out of saw blade holder in accordance with
Figure 2. Insert the new saw blade as far as it will go into the saw blade holder. Release the lock and
check saw blade for firm seating.
• Electronic stroke rate control / stroke rate pre-selection function
To saw material properly, rotate the adjusting wheel for stroke rate preselection (3) (Figure 1b) and
set a suitable stroke rate (0–2800 min-1) using the on / off switch. The adjustment wheel also serves
to implement continuous adjustments of the stroke rate during operation.
• Setting the saw shoe
Press the locking lever for the saw shoe down and slide saw shoe lengthwise to the require position.
Tighten the locking lever again. To adapt or to provide a safe rest for various materials, the angle of
the saw shoe can be modified.
