Removal And Replacement Procedures

CONTROL BOX REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

Service and repair should be performed by only Lincoln Electric factory trained personnel. Unauthorized
repairs performed on this equipment may result in danger to the technician or machine operator and will
invalidate your factory warranty. For your safety and to avoid electrical shock, please observe all safety
notes and precautions detailed throughout this manual. If for any reason you do not understand the test
procedures or are unable to perform the test/repairs safely, contact the Lincoln Electric Service Department
for electrical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed. Call 1-888-935-3877.
TEST DESCRIPTION
This procedure will aid the technician in the removal and replacement of the Control Box Assembly from
the Case Assembly.
MATERIALS NEEDED
3/8" Nutdriver
1/2" Wrench
7/16" Wrench
Wiring Diagram
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the input power to the LN-25x wire feeder.
2. Disconnect the gun and remove wire spool, if applicable.
3. Using a 3/8" nutdriver and 1/2" nutdriver, remove the eight case cover screws (two on top, four on
the left side and two on the bottom of unit). See Figure F.17 and F.18.
4. Using a 7/16" wrench, remove the two screws and associated washers securing the case handle to
the machine. See Figure F.19.
NOTE: There will only be one screw and associated washer if the Wire Drive Assembly And Control
Box Cover Removal Procedure has been performed.
5. Loosen the cord grip connector, located on the rear of the unit. See Figure F.20.
6.
Slide the control box assembly out of the case assembly.
REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
1. Slide the control box assembly into the case assembly.
2. Tighten the cord grip connector, located on the rear of the unit.
3. Using a 7/16" wrench, attach the two screws and associated washers securing the case handle to
the machine.
4. Using a 3/8" nutdriver and 1/2" nutdriver, attach the eight case cover screws (two on top, four on
the left side and two on the bottom of unit).
5. Perform the Retest After Repair Procedure.
