This condition can be determined by
shifting the rocker arm with fingers
thro,ugh
the
tappet adjusting holes.
If the tappets are free· , it is an indication
that the valves are closed and the
piston is on the compression stroke.

adjusting scr, e w. Both the intake and
the· exhaust valves should be adjusted
to 0.002
in.
(0.05 mm). To perfo rm

adjustment, loosen the adjusting screw
lock nut and turn the adjusting
screw . Turning the adjust ing scr, e w
clockw ise wi
