To set the digital output signal

MD deck with a digital input jack.

Selects the type of Dolby Digilal signal.
D-PCM
Select this when the player is
connected to an audio
component lacking a built-in
Dolby Digital decoder. You can
select whether the signals
conlk_rm to Dolby Surround
(Pro Logic) or not by making
a([justments to the
"DOWNMIX" item in
"A1JDIO SETUP" (page 81).
DOLBY
Select this when the player is
DIGITAL
connected to an audio
component with a built-in
Dolby Digital decoder.
• DTS (DVD VIDEO/DTS-CD)
Selects the type of DTS signal.
D-PCM
Select this when the player is
contracted
to all atldio
component without a builtdn
DTS decoder.
DTS
Select this when the player is
conlmcted
to all atldio
component with a built-in DTS
decoder.
When "DTS" is set to "DTS" and a DTS-CD is
phLvedback, audio signals are not output from the
LINE OUT AUDIO L/R 112 jacks. When a
component that cannot receive the stream signal of
DTS is connected to the HDMI OUT jack, audio
signals are not output from the HDMI OUT jack.
• 48kHz/96kHz
PCM (DVD VIDEO only)
Selects the sampling frequency
of the audio
signal.
48kHz/16bit
96kHz/24bit
The audio signals of DVD
VIDEOs are always converted
to 48 kHz/16 bit.
All types of signals inchlding
96 kH/J24 bit are output in their
original lonnat. However, if the
signal is encrypted lot
copyright protection purposes,
the signal is only output as 48
kHz/16 bit.
• The analog audio signals from the LINE OUT
AUDIO L_ jacks and 5.1CH OUTPUT jacks are
not aflk:ctedby this setting and keep their original
sampling frequency level.
• If the HDMI OUT jack is connected to equipment
not compatible with 96 kHz/24 hit signals,
48 kHz/16 bit PCM will be automatically output
even when you select "96kHW24bit."
4.AUDIO (HDMI)
Selects tile t2rl)e of audio signal output from
the HDMI OUT,jack.
AUTO
Normally, select this. Outputs
audio signals according to the
"DIGITAL OUT" settings
(page 82).
PCM
Converts Dolby Digital, DTS.
or 96 kHz/24 bit PCM signals to
48 kHz/16 bit PCM.
• A loud noise (or no sound) will be output if you
connect
the player to a TV that is not compatible
wilh DOLBY
DIGITAL/DTS
signals
and
"AUTO" is selected.
In this case. select "PCM."
• If you are using the HDMI OUT jack, make sure
Ihat "DIGITAL OUT" is set to "ON."
