BATTERY BACK-UP
The
battery
back-up
circuit
on
the
7706
will
retain
data
tor at least
two
years, typically
five
years. This
is
true
for
both
fully
and
partially
populated
versions.
Neither using
a par-
tially
populated
card,
nor
keeping
power
applied
(o
the
card
as
much
as possible
will
make
a
significant
difference
in
battery
lite.
Jumper
W5
completes
the battery
back-up
circuit.
The
card
is
shipped
with the
jumper
installed.
It
should
be
left
installed
except
to
replace
the battery or
for
repair.
Frequent
removing
and
installing
of
the
jumper can
shorten battery
lite
because
of
the current
surge
which
occurs
when
the
battery
is
engaged.
