A
thorough understanding
of the
operator controlled
editing features
will
help
you
to
more
effectively use
your 4023.
Fig.
1-14
shows
an
example
of text that
has
been
displayed.
However,
it
needs
to
be edited before being entered
to
the
computer
(typing errors
can
be corrected
by
simply typing over the
error).
The
Insert
and
Delete
functions
are
performed
as
follows:
Inserting
A
Character
Deleting
A
Character
To
insert a
character, position
the cursor
where
the character
is
to
be
inserted,
then
press
the
INS
C
key.

(A)
illustrates this
operation.
Note
that
all
data
from
the cursor location to the
right
margin
shifts right
one
space, leaving a
space
at
the cursor
location.
To
delete
a
character, position
the cursor over the character
to
be
deleted,
then
press
the
DEL
C
key.
All
data to the
right
of
the cursor
moves
left
to
fill
up
the space
left
by
the deleted
character.
