4023
Users
A
two-position rocker switch
that
performs
the following
functions.
LOCAL —
Logically
disconnects
the
Terminal
from
the
computer.
However,
the
Terminal
can
still
interact
with
other
devices
con-
nected
to
it,
such
as
a
digital
magnetic
storage
unit, etc.
LOCAL
is
also
used
when
practicing
with
the Terminal, using the
4023
with
auxiliary
devices
independent
of
the
computer,
and
when
main-
tenance
is
performed.
ON
LINE
-
Logically
connects
the
Terminal
to the
computer,
allowing
the
4023
and computer
to
interact.
Spare rocker
switch.
Normally
used
to control
auxiliary devices.
Indicates that
the
computer
system
will
not accept data
from
the
4023.
Operator
must
wait
for
light
to
extinguish
before
functions
can
occur.
Indicates
that
keyboard
entry
is
inhibited
because
one
of
the
following
is
occuring:
1
The 4023
is
transmitting
a
mes-
sage or
a
message
transmission
is
pending.
2.
The
cursor
is
located
in
a
pro-
tected
field in
which
data
cannot be
entered.
3.
The
cursor
is
positioned
on
a
Field
Attribute
Code.
