1.4 Safety requirements The Crawler is installed and operated in a controlled environment involving hazardous situations. Therefore, proper maintenance is essential for safe and reliable operation. Procedures outlined in Peinemann Equipment manuals are the recommended methods for performing operations and maintenance.
Bundle weight must not exceed 25 tons (metric) ( (55,116 lb). • Bundle diameter must not exceed 2 meters (6.56 ft). 1.12 Limited warranty Warranty provided will be void if the Crawler or parts were either: • Unauthorized modified repaired or serviced. • Not properly maintained.
! Wheel hubs M22 x 1.5 / class 10.9 – 985 Nm 1.14 Warning plates The warning plates and stickers must be present on the Crawler. Therefore, do not remove the warning plates and stickers. When a warning plate or sticker has disappeared, it must be replaced.
1.16 Accountability Peinemann Equipment B.V. cannot be held accountable for any material and non-material damage caused during the installation and operation of the Crawler. Therefore, users must carefully read this manual and handle the Crawler with care. 1.17 General terms and conditions “All offers, orders, assignments and agreements for the lease, sale and/or delivery of services...
The Peinemann Crawler is designed to handle large numbers of low-elevation bundles during maintenance shutdowns. The Crawler can rotate its wheels to 90 degrees so the machine can drive forwards and sidewards to reach bundles in the most challenging areas. In addition, the transport height of the low version has been reduced to 2.54 meters (8.4 ft)
EG with a design safety factor of 2.25 on the constructive parts. 3.5 Safe workingload (SWL) The safe working load (SWL) of the Crawler with long frame is 25 tons (metric) (55,116 lbs). The Crawler has been tested with 30 ton (metric) (66,139 lbs).
Next to the engine display is the control panel. The control panel shows critical engine failures. The ‘Beacon’ switch (de)activates the orange beacon (option) on top of the Crawler. The ‘working lights’ switch (de)activates the working lights (option), which are mounted on the Crawler.
(option). The wireless remote control (option) comes with a battery charger. See the battery charger on the bottom in the picture below. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...
The cable remote control comes standard. The cable can be plugged in at two different locations. Location 1 is located on the left side of the electrical control cabinet. Location 2 is located at the backside of the fork. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...

Union Unax AW 46 ! Unless otherwise stated, all interventions should be carried out when the Crawler has been stopped, cooled down, and the ignition key has been removed. Those authorized to carry out these interventions should follow all the precautions needed to guarantee the safety of the people involved in compliance with the requirements laid down in the applicable legislation concerning safety at the workplace.
Therefore, checking the filters after one month, six months, and one year of service is recommended. Depending on the results of the check, the interval between inspections can be increased or decreased. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...

The Crawler can only be driven on a limited inclination. The maximum angle of inclination is 6.5%. • If the Crawler is parked for a considerable time, it must be supported by two outriggers leaning on the ground. 5.2 Transport The Crawler is transported on a low loader.
1. Turn on the ‘main switch’ at the front of the Crwaler. 2. Turn on the ‘ignition switch’ located on the control panel at the left side of the Crawler. 3. Wait 10 seconds for the systems to start up.
5. OPERATIONS 5.3.3 Set-up at the operating location Drive the Crawler to the operating location and position it at a 90° degree angle relative to the bundle. The distance between the side of the Crawler and the bundle must not exceed 4.5 meters (14.76 ft). Otherwise, the stroke of the pulling bed will be insufficient to reach...
Use the remote control to position the pulling bed at the appropriate height. Then, push the extension piece slightly against the shell. If you have insufficiently pushed the extension piece against the shell, there is a chance that the bed will make an unexpected movement during the first pulling motion. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...
1 meter (3.28 ft) out from the shell. The pulling cables must be loosened, and the eye bolts must be removed. If the bundle pulling holes had plugs, these must be put back. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...

1 meter (3.28 ft) of bundle left in the shell. ! During the pulling procedure, the centre of gravity of the bed will move backwards. Adjust the bed to prevent damage. This is done by adjusting the jacks. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...
Turn the bed in line with the machine and lower the bed down onto the main frame. Position the bed with the bundle such that the Crawler is in balance. Retract the jacks and outriggers. Secure the bundle against the bed with tension straps. The extracted bundle is ready for transport by the Crawler.
Drive the bundle crawler as close as possible to the back side of the transport trailer. Assure that the Crawler and trailer bed are aligned. If the trailer is coupled to a truck, break wedges are unnecessary. Otherwise, use break wedges to secure the trailer. Then remove the tension straps from the bundle.
1. Turn on the ‘main switch’ at the front of the Crwaler. 2. Turn on the ‘ignition switch’ located on the control panel at the left side of the Crawler. 3. Wait 10 seconds for the systems to start up.
Position the bed horizontally. Then connect a chain to the front end of the bed and a fixed point on the shell. Put tension on the chain by moving the bed slightly backwords, while keeping the bundle into the shell. The Crawler is now ready to push the bundle fully into the shell. ! Always use chains while installing the bundles. This prevents unexpected movements of the bed and overloading the shells’...
With 50 centimeter (19,7 in) of bundle to go, it is possible to turn the bundle in the right position (if necessary). This is done using a hardwood beam sized 10x10 centimeter (3.9 x3.9 in). The beam is placed between the bottom side of the winch and the pipe plate of the bundle. The angle of the beam influences the movement of the bundle. PEINEMANN EQUIPMENT - USER MANUAL CRAWLER...
Remove the chain and bolts. Move the bed fully backwards. Turn the bed in the transport position and retract the jacks and outriggers. 5.7 Stop engine There are two engine stop procedures for the Crawler depending on the type of remote control used. Cable remote control 1.
