Battery Installation & Assembly

Batteries

Install 2 x AA alkaline batteries by removing the battery holder from the back of the Timer Control Unit and inserting the batteries as indicated. Replace the battery holder.
NOTE: Do not use rechargeable batteries. Recycle batteries after use.

We recommend replacing batteries when the indicator reaches

Installation

Attach the timer to an outside faucet and turn on the water. Leave the faucet on while the timer is attached.

NOTE: You may program the timer before attaching it to the faucet.

Setting the Clock

Touch any button to wake the timer.
Using the Cursor Button move the arrow to Set Time.
Press the & buttons to adjust the clock to the current time. Press
Adjust the current day-of-the-week using the & buttons. Press
Press the Cursor Button again to set the time and move to the next setting, Start Water.

Select when to water

With the arrow pointing to Start Water, use the & buttons to select the first time of the day you want to water. All remaining watering cycles during the day will be based on this time.
Press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting.

How Long to Water

With the arrow pointing to How Long, use the & buttons to select the length of each watering cycle.
Cycles can be up to 360 minutes (6 hours) in duration.
Press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting.

How Often to Water

With the arrow pointing to How Often, use the & buttons to set the watering frequency.
This timer offers two ways to select watering frequency: Select Days and Regular Intervals

Select Days

With the arrow pointing to How Often, use the & buttons to navigate days-of-the-week.
When a day is flashing, you can press OK to select it. The day will be outlined when selected.
How Often to Water - Selecting the Days

After selecting days, continue pressing the button until EVERY 24 HRS appears.
In order to water once every 24 hours (once per day) on the selected days, simply press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting. If you want to water more than once a day, press the button to select between 1 and 24 times per day.
Press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting.

Regular Intervals

With the arrow pointing to How Often, press the button to navigate past the days-of-the-week.

You will be able to water as often as every 1 hour, every day or as in frequently as once every 7 days.
Press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting.
How Often to Water - Setting the Regular Intervals

Auto Mode

After programming, the timer will be in Auto mode. Your watering programs will only operate when the timer is in Auto mode.
If the timer is not in Auto mode, press the Cursor Button to switch to Auto.
The screen display will alternate between the current TIME and the NEXT START TIME.
If the next watering cycle is more than 24 hours away, the NEXT START TIME will be displayed in days instead showing a time.
Auto Mode Operation

Rain Delay Mode

If there is rain in the forecast and you want to temporarily stop watering, you can use Rain Delay.
Rain Delay Mode will stop all watering for up to 7 days.
After the delay period, the watering program will begin running automatically.

To activate Rain Delay Mode, make certain the arrow is pointing to AUTO. Press the key to select the delay period. You can reduce or deactivate the delay period with the key. Once you see the desired delay period, press or wait for the numeral to stop flashing.
In Rain Delay Mode, the screen will toggle between the current TIME and the remaining DELAY time. If the delay is greater than 24 hours, the DELAY will be shown in DAYS.

NOTE: Once activated, you can deactivate Rain Delay by pressing until DELAY dims and the cursor moves to AUTO.

Works with melnor HydroLogic Soil Moisture Sensor

(not included)
Prevent overwatering while conserving water by connecting your timer to the HydroLogic Soil Moisture Sensor. The easy to set sensor monitors moisture in the soil, and will suspend a watering cycle when it is raining or when the ground is already wet. Adjust the dial to maintain just the right amount of moisture for healthy lawns and gardens.

Off Mode

If you wish to stop watering for an extended period, push the Cursor Button arrow points to OFF.
The timer will not water automatically while in this mode. The screen will display the word OFF in large letters.
Using the Off Mode

To start watering automatically again, simply press the Cursor Button until the arrow is pointing to AUTO. The program will begin watering at the next available Start Time.

Manual Watering

Press the Manual button ( on multi-language models)
Then press the or button to adjust the amount of time you want the valve to be open.
The valve will open after a few seconds and automatically close after the selected time.

Unit Reset

If you need to completely erase all settings in the timer and return it to it's original state, press and hold the button for 7 seconds.
The screen will display RESET to confirm the action.

NOTE: All programming will be lost when the timer is RESET.


Intended for outdoor use only. Severe electrical shock could result if water is sprayed into outlets or sources of electrical current. Do not use water more than 115°F(46°C). Do not use when the ambient air temperature is less 40°F(4.5°C). When not in use, remove batteries, drain and store indoors away from freezing temperatures.
