Install 2 x AA alkaline batteries by removing the battery holder from the back of the Timer Control Unit and inserting the batteries as indicated. Replace the battery holder.
NOTE: Do not use rechargeable batteries. Recycle batteries after use.
Turn the support bracket for ward on the Timer Valve Unit.
Slide the Timer Control Unit onto the bracket, and plug the cable into the back of the Timer Valve Unit.
Attach the timer to an outside faucet and turn the water on very slowly. The water must be left on while the timer is attached to the faucet for your timer to operate. You may choose to program your timer before or after attaching it to the faucet.
NOTE: If water is continuously flowing through one or more valves, see Open Valves During Installation in the "Useful Tips" section for more information.
Touch any button to wake the timer.
Using the Cursor Button , move the arrow to Set Time.
Press the &
buttons to adjust the clock to the current time. Press
Adjust the current day-of-the-week using the &
buttons. Press
Press the Cursor Button again to set the time and move to the next setting, Start Water.
With the arrow pointing to Start Water, use the &
buttons to select the first time of the day you want to water. All remaining watering cycles during the day will be based on this time.
Press ZONE to change the zone. You must set start time for each zone you are programming. You must first enter a start time for each zone you are programming before any other settings for a zone.
Press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting.
With the arrow pointing to How Long use the &
buttons to select the length of each watering cycle.
Cycles can be up to 360 minutes (6 hours) in duration.
Press ZONE to change the zone. You must set How Long for each zone you are programming before proceeding.
Press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting.
With the arrow pointing to How Often use the &
buttons to select the watering frequency.
This timer offers two ways to select watering frequency: Select Days and Regular Intervals

With the arrow pointing to How Often use the &
buttons to navigate days-of-the-week.
When a day is flashing, you can press OK to select it. The day will be outlined when selected.
After selecting days, continue pressing the button until EVERY 24 HRS appears.
In order to water once every 24 hours (once per day) on the selected days, simply press the Cursor Button to move to the next setting. If you want to water more than once a day, press the
button to select between 1 and 24 times per day.
Press ZONE to change the zone or the Cursor Button
to move to the next setting.
With the arrow pointing to How Often press the button to navigate past the days days-of the-week.
You will be able to water as often as every 1 hour, every day or as in frequently as once every 7 days.
Press ZONE to change the zone or the Cursor Button
to move to the next setting.
You must set How Often for each zone you are programming before proceeding.
After programming, the timer will be in Auto mode. Your watering programs will only operate when the timer is in Auto mode.
If the timer is not in Auto mode, press the Cursor Button to switch to Auto.
The screen display will alternate between the current TIME and the NEXT START TIME for each zone.
If the next watering cycleis more than 24 hours away, the NEXT START TIME will be displayed in days instead showing a time.
If there is rain in the forecast and you with to temporarily stop watering, you can use RainDelay.
Rain Delay Mode will stop all watering for up to 7 days.
After the delay period, the watering program will begin running automatically.
To activate Rain Delay Mode, make certain the arrow is pointing to AUTO. Press the key to select the delay period. You can reduce or deactivate the delay period with the
key. Once you see the desired delay period, press
or wait for the numeral to stop flashing.
In Rain Delay Mode, the screen will toggle the current TIME and the remaining DELAY time. If the delay is greater than 24 hours, the DELAY will be shown in DAYS.
NOTE: Once activated, you can deactivate Rain Delay by pressing until DELAY dims and the cursor moves to AUTO.
If you wish to stop watering for an extended period, push the Cursor Button until the arrow points to OFF.
The timer will not water automatically while in this mode. The screen will display the word OFF in large letters.
To start watering automatically a gain, simply press the Cursor Button until the arrow is pointing to AUTO.The program will begin watering at the next available Start Time.
NOTE: Setting the timer to OFF disables all watering zones. In order to disable a specific zone (or zones), use the Cursor Button to move to HOW LONG. Ensure you are adjusting the desired watering zone by using the ZONE
button. Adjust the HOW LONG setting to "0". To reactivate the zone, adjust the HOW LONG setting back to the desired watering duration.
This timer features two ways to water manually. The easiest way is to simply turn the knob for the zone you want to water. Turn the knob back to stop the flow.
To control manual watering through the controller, press the Manual button ( on multi-language models)
Press ZONE to select the zone you want to open. Then press the
or
button to adjust the amount of time you want the valve to be open.
The valve will open after a few seconds and automatically close after the selected time.
If you need to completely erase all settings in the timer and return it to it's original state, press and hold the button for 7 seconds
The screen will display RESET to confirm the action.
NOTE: All programming will be lost when the timer is RESET.

Prevent overwatering while conserving water by connecting your timer to the HydroLogic Soil Moisture Sensor. The easy to set sensor monitors moisture in the soil, and will suspend a watering cycle when it is raining or when the ground is already wet. Shaking during transportation can cause valves to be open. If this occurs, water may run continuously through one or more valves during installation.
Turn the water off.
Unplug the Valve Unit from the Control Unit, then plug the Valve Unit back in.
Turn the water back on.
If the problem persists, turn off the water. Press the MANUAL button to open and close each valve 3 times.
You should clean your timer periodically. Debris or sediments commonly found in water can build up in your timer.
Turn off the water. Remove the timer from the faucet, and disconnect the Valve Unit from the Control Unit. Check that the filter washer is clear.
If you notice any debris, remove the filter washer and clean it out with water.
Spray water through each valve and the faucet connection to flush out any built-up sediments or debris.
Freezing temperatures can cause water in the timer to freeze and expand, damaging the timer.
At the end of the season or when there is frost in the forecast, turn off the water and remove your timer from the faucet.
Remove the batteries.
Be sure to store the timer indoors, away from freezing temperatures.
Make sure to use fresh alkaline batteries.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Remove the batteries at the end of the season before storing.
Batteries should last about one season. A schedule with more frequent watering times can cause the batteries to drain faster.

Intended for outdoor use only. Severe electrical shock could result if water is sprayed into outlets or sources of electrical current. Do not use water more than 115°F(46°C). Do not use when the ambient air temperature is less than 40°F(4.5°C). When not in use, remove batteries, drain and store indoors away from freezing temperatures.
