The MD52A compass sensor can either be mounted to an existing ship’s magnetic compass installation in its binnacle or to a magnetic compass supplied as part of the complete TMC system.
The MD52A requires to be mounted on or under a host magnetic compass in close proximity to the compass card. The MD52A outputs a 3 phase positional signal by sensing the orientation of the host compass card. In this way, the MD52A acts as a Compass Sensor or a Magnetic Pickoff Coil.
8 MOUNTING OPTIONS MD54 Compass Sensor Adhesive Mount F054001 The MD54 Adhesive Mount from MARINE DATA is a non-ferrous mounting for attaching the MARINE DATA MD52A Ship’s Magnetic Compass Sensor to an existing ship’s magnetic compass. The MD54 is designed to adhere to the smooth concentric area located underneath the majority of externally gimballed ship’s magnetic compasses.
MD52A MD58 Compass Sensor Bracket Mount F058001 The MD58 Bracket Mount from MARINE DATA is a non-ferrous Bracket Mount for attaching the MARINE DATA MD52A Ship’s Magnetic Compass Sensor to an existing ship’s magnetic compass. This bracket provides an alternative mounting option to the MD54 Adhesive Mount.
