Mixtures of gasoline and alcohol (known as “gasohol”), or the use of ethanol or methanol, can attract moisture that causes separation and formation of acids during storage.

Removal of safety devices, improper maintenance and poor replacement of the bar or chain increases the risk of serious injuries. Avoid skidding (skating) Skids occur when the chain gets caught in the wood at the bottom of the chain.

USE OF HARNESS AND ROPES • SUMMARY This section details the good practices necessary to reduce the risk of injury from high-altitude pruning work with a harness and rope. Although it presents some instructions for safe operation, at no time does it replace formal training.
