Features
8-times over-sampling and digital fitter
Signal process frequency of 8 times the reference frequency
means playback with less distortion.

On safety
© Operate the unit only on 120V AC or 15V DC.
For AC operation, use the AC power cord supplied; do not
use any other type.
For battery operation, use ten size D (R20) batteries.
© Unplug the unit from the wall outlet when it is not to be used
for an extended period of time.
© When
the intemal batteries
are not to be used, remove
them to avold damage caused by battery leakage and
corrosion.
¢ As the laser beam used in the CD player section is harmful
to the eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the casing.
Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
o Should any solid object or liquid fall into the unit, unplug
the unit, and have it checked by qualified personnel before
operating it any further.
On installation
D o n o t l e a v e
the unit in a location near heat sources, or ina
sa subject todirect sunlight, excessive dust, or mechan-
ical shock.
° If the unit is left in a car parked Inthe sun, be sure to
choose
a location in the car where the unit will not be
subject to the direct rays of the sun.
© Do not place anything within 10 mm of the side of the
cabinet. The ventilation holes must be unobstructed for
the proper operation of the unit and to protong the life
of its
components.
© Since
a strong magnet is used for the speakers, keep per-
sonal credit cards using magnetic
coding or springwound
watches
away from the unit
to prevent possibile damage
from the magnet.

On operation
© If the unit is brought directly from a cold to a warm location,
or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense
on the lenses inside the CD player section. Shoutd this
occur, the player will not operate properly. in this case,
remove the disc and wait about an hour for the moisture to
evaporate.
e If the unit has not been used for a long time, set it in the
playback mode to warm It up for a few minutes before
inserting a cassette.
© The use of cassettes longer than 90 minutes is not recom-
mended except for long continuous recording or playback.
Whether you are going to operate the unit on AC power or on
batteries, make sure to insert three size AA (R6) batteries for the
clockhimerfmemory functions.
* if acassette
cannot be removed
if the power was accidentally cut off (for example, the AC
power cord was disconnected, the batteries fell out or an in-
terruption of the main power source occurred)
after B, REC
or Hi-SPEED DUB was pressed, it may notbe possible to
eject the cassette. in this case, supply power to the unit again
and then press § & to remove the cassette.
© if the cassette holder cannot be closed
Press N & to remove the cassette and reinsert it Into the
holder. Do not attempt to play back or record when the cas-
sette holder is not firmly closed. Otherwise, the cassette may
be damaged.
