3. Installation and commissioning

This section also contains information for the end user. Please read it, even if your unit is already

installed.
Your unit may only be installed by ACL or authorized distributors.
A separate installation manual is available to them. It describes tools, procedures and restrictions
for installation in or on the wall.
Make sure that the unit and its accessories are complete according to the attached delivery note.
The unit was cleaned before leaving our production facility. However, it is neither sterile nor
disinfected upon arrival due to transport conditions and packing. Advice for initial cleaning can be
found at section 5.1.
Appropriate ventilation of the unit's frontal surfaces is necessary to protect the unit from overhea-
ting and to ensure reliable and continuous operation. Therefore, do not operate the unit in a place
or under conditions with insufficient ventilation of the frontal surfaces. Do not place or suspend
objects or materials on the unit or its accessories to prevent heat accumulation or an interruption
of the air circulation and to protect the components from excessive loads.
If your unit does not have optional controls to change the display brightness on the front of the
unit, service personnel may use the internal "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the displays brightness.

3.1 Cable and device connection

Ensure compliance to relevant local safety standards when creating an electrical connection with
other devices. Furthermore, a functional system is created by exchanging data with other de-
vices. This applies in particular if this functional system has a medical purpose, e.g. when the unit
becomes part of an endoscopy system. The validity of any assured properties and conformity to
standards for the unit would not extend to the new functional system. Instead, the party which
is placing this newly created system on the market is responsible for its conformity to applicable
regulations and standards.
There might be unforeseeable interactions or even malfunctions on one or both units if the unit is
connected to other devices.
