Funciton of the KDC-6009/PS709
Traffic Information Function
You can listen to traffic information. lf you are listening to
tapes or discs, they will continue playing until a traffic bulletin
is broadcast.
Turning Tt function On/OF:
1 Press the MENU
button for at least one second
"MENU is displayed and the menu mode is turned on
2 Keep pressing the ri button until the Traffic Information
function appears in the display.
Press the 4
button to search in the other direction
The function setting 1s indicated by "Tl OFF' of "TION in the
display, indicating that the Tl function is on or off, respectively
3 Switching settings
Press either the AM or FM button.
The display and setting will change.
When the function ts on, the TI indicator is turned on
When a traffic information station is being received, the TP
indicator will turn on. When none is being received, the TI
indicator will blink on and off
When a traffic bulletin begins to be broadcast, the [A indicator
will turn on
If you are Jistening to a tape or disc when a traffic bultetin
begins, they will automatically be turned off When the bulletin
ends or poor reception is experienced, the tape or disc will
begin playing again
4 Press the MENU
button to end the menu mode
Switching to a Different Traffic information Station:
Use the Ieee / mI buttons to make an aulo seek af the TI
Stations in a certain band

* When you are fistening to a tape of disc, you cannot change to
another

Program Type (PTY) Function
Conduct auto seek tuning only on those stations with selected
kinds of programs.
1 Press the »u(PTY) button
"PTY" is displayed once the program type selection mode is
entered

You cannot use this function while the traffic information func-
tion is turned on
2 Select the type of program to be received
* Press either the FM or AM buttons repeatedly to select the
type of program you want to listen to
The selection includes

* You can select the type of program directly by pressing a
preset button, The buttons are factory-set to the following
type of programs
1. Music
4. Sports
3. News
6 Jazz
[ NOTE | Changing the Preset Button Settings for Program Type
Alter selecting the type of program to be stored
a cerlain
preset button, hatd down that button for at least two seconds
The previously stored data for that button are erased and the
new program type is stored
