Moving Off the Road

WARNING: Deactivating the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) requires pressing
the brake pedal. Once the vehicle is in N (Neutral) and the brake pedal is
released, the vehicle will be freestanding. Be aware that the vehicle could roll at this
point if it is not on a level surface.
CAUTION: Avoid pulling the vehicle with wheels on the ground, as prolonged
rolling can cause heat damage to the drive motor system and generate high
voltages in the electrical system.
If the vehicle needs to be moved a short distance but cannot be driven normally:
• Set the Gear Shift Selector to N (Neutral) to allow the wheels to roll freely. Note:
The driver must stay in the vehicle to avoid shifting out of Neutral. See
Neutral, page
22.
• Deactivate the Electronic Parking Brake, see
Brake (EPB), page

miles. The vehicle will then need to be loaded onto a flatbed truck.
