Cannot get the dust cup to remove - I **** pushing on the green bar every way possible>

To remove the dust cup from the Eureka NEC370 Series vacuum:
1. Press the dust cup release button to remove the handle component.
2. Rotate the motor cover component to detach the dust cup component.

I am unable to twist the motor component back onto the dust cup. As you can see it is slightly off and not in the locked position.
