WATER INLET HOSES
Replace inlet hoses after 5 years of use to reduce the risk of
failure. Periodically inspect and replace hoses if bulges, kinks,
cuts, wear, or water leaks are found.
When you replace your water inlet hoses, write the
replacement date on the label with a permanent marker.
WASHING MACHINE CARE
Recommendations to help your washing machine
clean and perform at its best
1. Always use High Performance (HE) detergents and follow
the HE detergent manufacturer's instructions for how
much HE detergent to use. Never use more than the
recommended amount as it can accelerate the buildup of
detergent residue and dirt in the washing machine, which
can cause an unwanted odor.
2. Sometimes use warm and hot water washes (not just cold
water washes), as these can do a better job of controlling
the rate at which dirt and detergent build up.
3. Always leave the washing machine lid open between uses
to help the washing machine finish drying and prevent the
buildup of odor-causing residue.
Cleaning the top loading washing machine
Please read these instructions completely before beginning
the routine cleaning process recommended below. The
washing machine maintenance procedure should be
performed at least once a month or every 30 wash cycles,
whichever comes first, to control the rate at which dirt and
detergent can accumulate in the washing machine.
How to clean the inside of the washing machine
To keep your washing machine odor-free, follow the
instructions for use above and use this monthly cleaning
procedure we recommend below:
Recommended cycle to clean the washing machine
Refer to the "Cycle Guide" section to select the best interior
washing machine cleaning cycle. Use this cycle with affresh
washing machine cleaner or liquid chlorine bleach as
described below:
Start the procedure
Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner Cycle Procedure
(recommended for best performance):
a. Open the lid of the washing machine and remove the
clothes or items from it.
b.
Use an affresh washing machine cleaning wipe or a
soft, damp cloth or sponge to clean the interior glass
door.
c.
Place one tablet of affresh washing machine cleaner in
the bottom of the wash basket.
d. Do not add detergent or any other chemicals to the
washing machine when following this procedure.
e. Close the lid of the washing machine.
f. Select the Washing machine cleaning cycle with affresh.
g. Press and hold START/PAUSE to start the cycle.
NOTE: For best results, do not interrupt the cycle. If you must
interrupt the cycle, press START/PAUSE once. After it stops,
run a Quick Wash cycle to rinse the washing machine cleaner.

Chlorine bleach procedure (alternative):
a.
Open the lid of the washing machine and remove the
clothes or items from it.
b. Add 1 cup (236 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the
bleach dispenser.
NOTE: Using more liquid chlorine bleach than
recommended can cause damage to your washing
machine over time.
c. Close the lid of the washing machine.
d. Do not add detergent or any other chemicals to the
washing machine when following this procedure.
e. select the Washing machine cleaning cycle with
affresh.
f.
Press and hold START/PAUSE to start the cycle.
NOTE: For best results, do not interrupt the cycle. If you must
interrupt the cycle, press START/PAUSE once. After it stops,
run a Quick Wash cycle to rinse the washing machine cleaner.
Description of Washing machine cleaning cycle operation
with affresh:
1.
The Clean Washer with Affresh cycle will determine
if there are any clothes or other items in the washing
machine.
2.
If no items are detected in the washing machine, the
washing machine will proceed with the cycle.
Once the cycle has finished, leave the lid open for better
ventilation and drying of the interior of the washing machine.
Cleaning the liquid fabric softener reservoir
(on some models)
1. Remove the reservoir by holding the top with your hands
and squeezing it, while pushing up with your thumbs.
2. Rinse the tank under warm running water or wipe the
surfaces with an affresh machine cleaning wipe or a
damp cloth and dry with a towel before or after running
the Affresh Washing Machine Cleaning cycle. Use an all-
purpose surface cleaner, if necessary.
3.
Reattach the reservoir.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the washing machine or clothing,
do not wash clothing without the liquid fabric softener
dispenser in place.
Cleaning the bleach reservoir
(on some models)
Clean the inside of the bleach dispenser with an affresh
machine cleaning wipe or a clean, damp cloth. Use an all-
purpose surface cleaner, if necessary.
