CLEARING PAPER JAMS

Clearing Manual Feed Paper Jams:
To clear a paper jam from the manual feed opening, simply switch the function
button to the reverse position (REV). The shredder will rotate the blades in reverse.
Pull out the paper in the feed opening to clear the jam. Once the paper is removed,
switch the function button back to the AUTO position and resume shredding.
Clearing Auto Feed Paper Jams:
1. Slide the Power Switch to the OFF Position and unplug the shredder.
2. Locate the Panel Lock Knob on the top of the shredder, above the Power Switch
and manual feed opening. Lift the handle on the Knob and rotate it to the right
to unlock the Panel from the shredder. (There are instructions on the Panel to
guide you.)
3. While holding the Knob in the unlocked position, gently lift and pull the panel
away from the shredder. This will give you full access to the feed opening area.
4. Remove jammed paper.
5. To replace the Panel, twist the Knob to the unlocked position and hold it. Return
the Panel to its original position, making sure that the side connection pins are
properly inserted. Release the Knob and it will return to the locked position.
Note: The shredder will not power up if the panel is not properly seated and locked in place.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

Frequent or continuous use of the shredder may cause motor to exceed normal
operating temperature. Your shredder has a built-in feature that will protect the
motor if it begins to overheat, by automatically shutting off the shredder motor.
• In Auto-Feed Mode, the motor will automatically turn off after approximately 12
minutes of continuous operation.
• In Manual Mode, the motor will automatically turn off after approximately 5
minutes of continuous operation
At the top of the shredder, a red indicator light will turn on, letting you know that
the shredder has overheated and needs to cool down. Unplug the shredder power
cord from the electrical outlet and allow the motor to cool (approximately 60
minutes to completely cool down).
Once the motor has cooled, the red indicator light will turn off and the shredder
will be ready for use.
Note: If the indicator light is blue, it means that the waste bin is full.
