TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

PROBLEM:
Unit does not power up.
CAUSE
Shredder components are not properly installed or aligned.
SOLUTION:
Make sure that shredder head is properly placed on the waste
basket. The shredder basket window should be aligned with the
front of the lid. This unit has an automatic sensor that switches
the shredder off when the shredder head is removed from the
wastebasket. Locate the tab on the back of the shredder basket
and make sure it is inserted into the opening on the lid. Make sure
that the information panel on the top of the shredder is properly
attached. (See "Clearing Auto Feed Paper Jams" section.)
PROBLEM:
Power turned off while shredding.
CAUSE:
Motor overheated
SOLUTION:
This shredder has a safety feature that will protect the motor if
it overheats by automatically shutting the motor down. If this
happens, the Overheat indicator light will turn red. To reset, turn the
shredder off and wait 30-60 minutes for the motor to cool down.
PROBLEM:
Paper is jammed and shredder does not run.
Too many sheets of paper are being fed into shredder at one time,
CAUSE:
or paper pieces caught in blades.
SOLUTION:
Press the "REV" button to clear paper from the blades..
Shredder motor is making loud and/or irregular noises during

Your motor or gears could be damaged.
CAUSE:
SOLUTION:
Please immediately stop use, unplug the machine and call
customer support for assistance.
