SPARK ARRESTOR MAINTENANCE

Inspect and clean the spark arrestor every 100 hours of
operation.
The spark arrester is located outside the muffler, which gets
very hot during operation. Allow the engine to
cool completely before servicing the spark arrester.
To inspect and clean the spark arrester:
1. Remove the two screws, and remove the tail pipe and spark arrester.
2. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrester screen. Be careful to avoid
damaging the screen. The spark arrester must be free of breaks and tears. Replace the spark
arrester if it is damaged.
3. Install the spark arrester in the reverse order of removal.
