error condition occurs, You cannot enter the digits 8 and 9 In the octal
mode
Note Any tlmo you do a chained math operation in Hex or Oct modes,
you should press the |-| key before the next operation key
J2'a] — Two's Complement Key
In the hexadecimal and octal modes, press [2 s] to find the two's
complement ol the number m the display (The! +7^~) key is
reassigned as the [2's] key.)
In the decimal number system, negative numbers are represented with a
minus sign. In the hexadecimal and octal modes, however, negative
numbers are represented in their two's complement form . a minus sign is
not displayed
For each number system, the calculator allows a specified range, ol positive
and negative (two's complement) numbers These ranges are listed In the
following sections
When working with more than one number system, you need to know which
system is being used For example, it you see tho number 10. how do you
know which number system It represents ?
Where more than one number system is involved, this guidebook uses the
tottowing notations to represent decimal, hexadecimal, and octal numbers
Entering Hexadecimal Numbers
To perform hexadecimal calculations, select the hexadecimal mode by
pressing ft*
*hen the calculator is In the decimal mode or by pressing

When the calculator ts In the octal mode You can then add,
subtract, multiply and divide hexadecimal numbers
In this mode, you can enter tho digits 0 through 9 and the letters A through
F Any leading zeros are ignored The calculator allows you to enter positive
hexadecimal numbers as large as 2S40bE3FF Numbers from FdAbF4lC01
through FFFFFFFFFF are interpreted as negative (two's complement)
