ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENT
1. TAPE TRANSPORT ADJUSTMENT >
1. Coarse Adjustment
1) Adjustment Points (Refer to Fig-1.)

2) Check Procedure
@ Prepare a recording tape from which the cassette
case lid is removed. Insert the recording tape
without cassette lid into the machine and
establish the playback mode.
Check that the tape has no curl at each guide
from @) to © when the tape is running. (See
Fig-2.)
If tape curl is observed at the TAPE GUIDE
ASSY ©, perform the slant adjustment of step
1) Slantness Adjustment Procedure of the
following item 3. ACE HEAD ADJUSTMENT.
Check that bottom edge of the tape runs along
with the drum rabbet guide. of the drum
smoothly.

Repeat PLAY and STOP modes several times and
check the tape curl.

2. FM ENVELOPE ADJUSTMENT
1) Oscilloscope Connection Procedure
CH-1...... Connect to the PB Y signal.
(Refer to the Service Manual of individual
model for exact connection point.)
CH-2...... Connect to the HSW-V (RF SWP) signal.
(Refer to the Service Manual of individual
model for exact connection point.)
* — Trigger an oscilloscope internally from CH-2 with
the TIME range of 5 msec/div.
- Adjustment Procedure
@® Set the Tracking to the MANUAL mechanical
center position.
@ Loosen the locking screws (referring to Fig-3)
until the L BLOCK L ASSY @ and the L
BLOCK R ASSY are gently rotatable.
@ Adjust the L BLOCK L ASSY © and the L
BLOCK R ASSY until the FM envelope
waveform becomes flat. (Refer to Fig-4.)

Repeat the PB, CUE/REV and PAUSE modes, and
confirm that the waveform return to the flat shape
immediately.
@ After completing the FM envelope adjustment,
tighten the locking screw.
® Apply the Neji-lock to the locking screw.
