In this step, the copy paper is separated
from the drum, making use of the body of the
copy
paper.
To prevent
copy
paper
without
much
body from
remaining
on the drum,
a
positive voltage is applied to the static charge
eliminator,
thereby
weakening
the
attraction
between the drum and the copy paper.

In this step,
the
copy
paper
carrying
a
transfer
image
moves
between
two
heated
rollers, and the transfer
image is fused to the
copy paper.
To prevent jams and toner offset,
the up-

per roller remains
in contact
with a cleaning
pad
impregnated
with
silicone
oil; the
pad
'-
serves to apply a small amount of silicone oil
as the roller rotates.

In ,this step, toner remaining on the drum
surface
is scraped- off by the cleaning
blade
onto
the
sweeper
strip.
The
toner
is then
moved
to to the
space
at the
rear of the
cleaning unit by the sweeping blade.
