USING THE HANDSET
FOR TELETEXT INFORMATION
A teletext decoder
is available as an optional
extra for all receiver models.
1. Introduction
This part of the instruction manual contains a
brief description
of teletext
system
and
in-
structions on how to use the handset for page
selection and other teletext functions.
The handset is intended both for normal TV use
and for the teletext operation.
Keys used in teletext operation

number keys 0 - 9 and

4 as wellas

keys with yellow printing above
Important!
Please retain this instruction manual for future
reference. If you acquire a teletext accessory
later on, the accessory kit does not include an
instruction manual.
In case the number keys on the handset are
inoperative, press the TV-key. When the hand-
set TEXT -key is pressed, the set turns to the
teletext mode even if the receiver is not equip-
ped for teletext. At that time the number keys
will be inoperative. To change to the TV mode
press the
TV-key.
2. Teletext Operating Instructions
Teletext is the general name for the system in
which written material and/or graphic pictures
not pertaining to the TV-programme are added
to the conventional TV-transmission. These so-
called text-pages can be displayed on a TV set
equipped with the teletext facility either in lieu
of the TV-picture or superimposed
on TV-pic-
ture. By means of the teletext system the sub-
cae of TV-programmes can also be transmit-
ted.
Television
mode
is always obtained
when
the
receiver is switched on. To switch into the tele-
text mode first select a TV-channel offering te-
letext at the time.
Under weak reception conditions it may be ne-
cessary to check receiver tuning —«,> + to en-
sure faultless teletext operation.

Die Videotextbedienung erfolgt mit den

Wichtiger Hinweis!
Bewahren
Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung
gut
auf. Ein eventuell spadter einzubauender Video-
textdecoder
wird
ohne
Bedienungsanleitung
geliefert.
'Sobald Sie die Taste TEXT driicken, geht der
Empfanger auf Videotextempfang,
auch wenn
kein Videotextempfangsteil eingebaut
ist, und
die nummerierten Tasten sind ohne Funktion.
Ein Druck auf die Taste TV schaltet den Emp-
fanger zuriick auf Fernsehbetrieb.
2. Videotextbetrieb
Videotext
ist die allgemeine
Bezeichnung
fir
ein System, bei dem mit der normalen Fernseh-
sendung ein nicht zum
Fernsehprogramm
ge-
hdrender Text bzw. Grafik Ubertragen wird. Ein
mit
dem
Videotext-Nachristsatz
versehener
Fernsehempfanger
kann
diesen
Text
anstelle
des Fernsehbildes oder mit diesem zusammen
darstellen.
Mit Hilfe dieses
Videotextsystems
k6nnen auch Fernsehprogramme untertitelt ge-
sendet werden.
Der Empfanger
befindet
sich nach dem
Ein-
schalten in Fernsehfunktion. Bevor mit der Ta-
ste TEXT
die Videotextfunktion
eingeschaltet
wird, muss ein Fernsehsender gewahit werden,
der
Videotext
sendet.
Bei
schlechtien
Emp-
fangsverhaltnissen muss dieser Sender mit der
Feinabstimmung—~«,— + sorgfaltig abyeglichen
werden,
um
ein fehlerfreies
Videotetbild
zu
bekommen.
