Water Softener
To
prevent
mineral
deposits
on
dishes and inside the dishwasher, the
water must first be softened, if it is
harder than 3 grains per gallon.
The buit-in water softener works
efficiently only if:
1. it is set correctly
2, the salt container is kept full.
Exception:
If the degree of hardness m local
water is permanently under 8 grains
per gallon {140 mg/liter) with low
carbonate hardness, there is no need
to reactivate. Your local water autho¬
rity will advise you on water hardness
in your area.
Water Hardness Selector
After consulting your local water au¬
thority to establish water hardness in
your area, adjust the selector accord¬
ing to the tab e below, using a screw¬
driver or com.

option, (see p 28), the water hard¬
ness selector must be set one setting
higher than for the normal water hard¬
ness setting (except with 1170-1250
mg/I).
