BASIC OPERATION
OREN
AUTO REPEAT SELECTION
(both Video Disc and Compact Disc)
By setting the front panel AUTO REPEAT switch, the player
can be set for repeat playback following the end of one side of
a disc.
ON: When the play mode comes to an end on one side of
a disc, player performs continuous repetitive play.
OFF: When the play mode comes to an end on one side of
a disc, playback is stopped, and the disc ceases rotating.
For normal playback, set to the OFF position.

TO WATCH A TELEVISION BROADCAST
When a VHF television antenna has been connected in ac-
cordance with the procedures given in these operating in-
structions, television broadcasts can be received normally
by meeting either of the following. conditions:
¢ Turn off the player's power switch ... The VHF
television antenna will be connected to the TV through
the player.
Turn on the TV indicator ... Press the TV SELECT
button on the player's front panel. The indicator will
light, and the VHF television antenna will be
connected to the TV through the player.
NOTE:
Even when the indicator lights, and a television broadcast is
showing on the TV screen, the player will continue in the
playback mode if it has been so set.

Turn off the power switch
or turn on the TV indicator.
NOTE:
In the area where electric field for TV broadcasting is weak,
slanting stripes may appear on the TV screen when TV
SELECT button is pressed to receive TV broadcasting. This,
however, does not indicate any trouble. This phenomenon
will be eliminated when power switch of the player is turned
off,
We advise you to turn off the power switch of the player when
you enjoy a long-time TV broadcasting.
TO STOP PLAYBACK
The player operation following completion of disc playback
can be selected in advance by setting the front panel AUTO
REPEAT switch (see AUTO REPEAT SELECTION).
To stop a disc midway through playback, perform the follow-
ing procedures:
1. Press the EJECT button on the player or on the
remote control unit.
e When the player's EJECT button is pressed, the disc will
stop rotating, and the disc table will open slightly.
e When the remote control's EJECT button is
Pressed once: Disc will stop rotating.
Pressed twice: Disc will stop rotating, disc table will
open.
2. Pull out the disc table.
3. Remove the disc.
Always remove the disc after playing it, and return it to its
jacket or case and store in a vertical position.
4. Close the disc table.
Always close the disc table after use in order to prevent
dust and dirt from adhering to the pickup lens inside the
player.
5. Turn off power.
