SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS

REPLACING
BATTERY (See Fig. 30)
WARNING:
Do not short battery
terminals by allowing a wrench or any
other object to contact both terminals
at the same time. Before connect-
ing battery, remove metal bracelets,
wristwatch bands, rings, etc.
Positive terminal must be connected
first to prevent sparking from acci-
dental grounding.
Lift hood to raised position.
Disconnect BLACK batlerycablefirsl
then RED baltery
cable and carefully remove baltery from tractor.
Inslall new baltery with terminals in same position as
old battery.
Firsl connect RED baltery cable to positive (+) terminal
with hex bolt and keps nut as shown.Tighten
securely.
Slide terminal cover over terminal.
Connect BLACK grounding cable to negalive (-) ter-
minal with remaining he× bolt and keps nut. Tighten
securely.

TO REPLACE
HEADLIGHT
BULB

Raise hood.
,
Pull bulb holder out of the hole in the backside of the
grill.
°
Replace bulb in holder and push bulb holder securely
back into the hole in the backside of the grill.

Close hood.
INTERLOCKS
AND
RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiring may cause your tractor to run
poorly, slop running, or prevent it from slatting.
,
Check wiring.
See electrical wiring diagram in the
Repair Parts section.
TO REPLACE
FUSE
Replace with 20 amp automotive-type
plug-in fuse. The
fuse holder is located behind the dash.
TO
REMOVE
HOOD
AND
GRILL
ASSEMBLY

Raise hood.

Unsnap headlight wire connector.
°
Sland in front of tractor. Grasp hood at sides, tilt toward
engine and lift off d tractor.

To replace, reverse above procedures.

CABLE
The throttle control has been presel al the factory and
adjuslment should not be necessary. If adjuslment is nec-
essary, see engine manual.
TO ADJUST
CHOKE
CONTROL
The choke control has been presel at the factory and ad-
juslment should nol be necessary. If adjuslment is neces-
sary. see engne manual.
TO ADJUST
CARBURETOR
Your carburetor is nol adjuslable. If your engine does nol
operale properly due to suspected carburetor problems,
take your tractor to an authorized service center for repair
and/or adjustment.
