TROUBLESHOOTING
Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunction. If you think that there is something wrong with this component, check the points
below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. investigate the other components and electrical appliances being used.
if the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer
to carry out repair work,

Power does not come on.
© The power cord plug is not properly plugged into
the power outlet.
* The power cord plug is plugged into the amp,
but there is no power from the amp.
* Caretully plug the power cord plug into the wall
outlet.
* Switch on the power to the amp.
No sound
* The INPUT LEVEL is turned down.
* The MASTER VOLUME is turned all the way to
the left.
* Incorrect connection of speaker cords of amp.
je Connecting cord jacks are not firmly inserted or
are loose, or the connections are wrong.
* The jacks or cord pin plugs are dirty.
* Incorrect operation of the amp's volume control,
muting, speaker switches etc.
* Muting is on.
* Turn the knob to the right for the desired volume
level.
* Turn the knob to the right for the desired volume
level.
* Connect correctly.
* Check connections.
* Clean jacks and pin plugs.
* Refer to the amp's instructions manual.
* Press the MUTE key to cancel muting.
The sound is distorted.
* The main unit's MASTER VOLUME is adjusted
too high, or the amp volume is too low.
*¢ When using a source with a wide dynamic range,
there is too much boost on the graphic equalizer
setting.
* When the main unit is connected to an
integrated amp, the MASTER VOLUME on the
main unit should be set to a position less than
42 o'clock.
* Lower the input level with the INPUT LEVEL
knob.
No sound from one speaker.
* The connecting cord or speaker cord is
disconnected.
* Incorrect balance adjustment.
* Check connections.
* Return to the center position.
The tape doesn't record.
* Incorrect operation of the cassette deck.
* Refer to the tape deck's instructions manual.
No sound from the rear speakers
* The PROCESSING switch is OFF.
* With a monaural audio input, a mode other than
SIMULATED
SURROUND is being used.
* Switch PROCESSING ON.
* Switch SIMULATED SURROUND ON.

No sound from the Processing
Front Speakers
The rear panel Sound Field System is on the
4CH side.
* Put the selector to the 6CH side.
Remote control operation is not
possible.
* Wrong distance or angle.
* There is an obstacle between the remote control
unit and the main unit.
« The batteries are dead.
* The remote control unit will function from a
maximum range of 7 meters, no more than 30
degrees off-axis from the unit's front panel.
* Remove the obstacle or change the position of
the unit.
lee Replace the batteries.
* If the indicator doesn't light, or operation switches fail to function when pressed, even when the power is switched on, disconnect the power
cord from the power outlet, wait for about 10 seconds, reconnect, and switch on the power again.
* When you use this unit with a TV or tuner at the same time, noise may be generated due to radio interference, but this will not damage the TV
or this unit. To avoid this problem, it is recommended you piace this unit, the TV, and the tuner as far apart as possible. The same applies to antenna
cords, and AC cords, which should be placed as far away as possible from any of this unit's cords.
