4. ErgoSensor
Philips ErgoSensor is an innovative technology that advises users on how to sit in an ergonomically
correct position at their computer. It uses a built-in sensor in the monitor to sense and measure the
user's behavior in terms of presence, posture and usage and then gives feedback for corrective actions.
Setting
You can turn the Philips ErgoSensor On or Off, and turn demo mode
On with a simple button on the bezel.
Demo mode
ErgoSensor monitor has a built in demo mode to demonstrate how
the detection and notification message system works. Activation
method: (A) 15 degrees neck-tilt for angle detection. (B) 3mins for
time break activation. (C) >90cm and < 70cm for distance activation.
How does it work?
• Viewing distance
If user is found sitting outside of
optimal ergonomic zone of 70-
90cm, a message is generated.
• Viewing angle
If user's posture is detected with a neck angle
tilted more than 15 degrees, a message is
generated.
• Viewing time
If the user is found to be continuously using
computer for more than one hour, a time break
reminder is generated.
• Power saving
A. User detected on seat, monitor operates normally
B. If user is not detected on seat, monitor brightness
dimmed after 1 minute, saving power
C. Monitor turns off after 3 minutes, and then enters
standby mode, saving power
D. User returns to the seat, ErgoSensor returns monitor
to normal operation immediately..
