dSP9 loudspeakers are supplied ready for use in many applications.
their Speakerlink connections are active, and each loudspeaker
will automatically detect its role as a Master or Slave. the only
configuration required in these cases is to set the channel selector
switch on each dSP9 – see step 2 of this guide.
Steps 3 and 4 of this guide are required only under the
circumstances described within those steps.
control of the loudspeakers can be carried out in a variety of
ways, depending on the type of system they are used in. details
for a variety of system applications are given in
the product's User guide . the User guide also
includes comprehensive information on installing
and configuring the loudspeakers in different
system scenarios.

two grille extractor tools
one microfibre cleaning cloth
one short Speakerlink cable per loudspeaker
one power cord per loudspeaker
one ia21 analogue input Module per loudspeaker
four M3 x 6mm fixing screws for each ia21 analogue input

if any item is missing, please contact your Meridian
representative. You should retain the packaging in case you
need to transport the loudspeakers.
2. Setting the channel Selector Switch
If the loudspeaker is to be used as a centre-channel in a
multichannel system:
Select Left or Centre. if image elevation is required, refer
to the User guide .
If the loudspeaker is on the left of the system (two-channel
or multichannel):
Select Left or Centre.
If the loudspeaker is on the right of the system (two-channel
or multichannel):
Select Right.
If using a single loudspeaker on its own, or if using multiple
speakers where the listening area does not have clearly
defined left and right loudspeaker positions:
Select L+R to play a balanced mix of left and right audio.
3. additional configUration
Additional configuration is only required if:
You want to connect one or more digital audio sources
directly to the Digital In, Optical In, or USB Audio inputs
on the Master loudspeaker. Slave loudspeakers do not
require this configuration.
You want to be able to change the default settings of
any loudspeaker, and no suitable Meridian product is
connected to the loudspeakers which could provide access
to those settings.
To carry out additional configuration:
Use the Meridian control app on a Bluetooth phone or tablet
to communicate with the B-link adapter (supplied with the
loudspeakers) while it is connected to the Speakerlink input
of the loudspeaker.
when run for the first time, the app includes a simple step-by-
step installation process.
the Meridian control app provides access to the
configuration and control options on the dSP9 itself:
To download the Meridian Control app:
the app is available for ioS devices from the apple app Store,
and for android devices from the google Play Store. Search
for Meridian to find the app, or scan the Qr code above.
4. USing the ia21 analogUe inPUt ModUleS
the ia21 analogue input Modules supplied with the
loudspeakers are only required if the loudspeakers are being
used to play analogue audio from a non-Meridian product or
system. if the loudspeakers are being fed with digital audio,
the ia21 modules do not need to be fitted.

the status is shown by the badge on the front of the loudspeaker:

loudspeaker in configuration mode.
loudspeaker not powered, or loudspeaker
not lit
operating but with indicator switched off.
