METAL CUTTING

When
cutting thin gage sheet
metal
,
it
i
s best to clamp wood
or plywood to bottom of metal
sheet. this will insure a clean
cut without the danger of
v
ibra
tion
or
tearing of metal. Al
ways remember to use a
fi
ner
blade for ferrous metals (those
that
have
an iron content). Use
a coarser blade for non -ferrous
metals (those that do not have
an
i
ran content .)
POCKET
CUTTING (Fig. 5)
A pocket cut is an easy method
of
making
an inside cut
.
The
saw
can
be inserted
directly
into a panel or board without
first drilling a l ead or pi!ot hole.
In pocket cutting measure the
surface to
be
cut
and
mark
clearly with a
p
encil. Ne xt tip
the saw forward until the front
edge of the shoe sits firmly on
the
work
surface.
Switch the
tool
on and allow it to attain
maximum speed
.
Grip the
han-
dle firmly and lower the back
edge of tool unt il the blade cuts
smoothly into material. Always
be
sure blade reaches its com
-
plete depth before starting to
cut out pattern.

ripping

thumb

or cut inward from edge
of material
to get blade into
position).
When
saw is properly
positioned,
drive a small nail
through hole of cross bar· inlo
exact
center of
circle to be cut.

The Nut and Thumb Screw are

Hold the nut

shown and thread the thumb
screw
into
it just enough to
hold the nut loosely in position.
Pull up on the thumb screw and

lide the Rip Fence under the
nut from either side of the
Saw.
Set the cross bar at desired
di stance from blade and tighten
thumb screw. For

ripping the

s bar should be down as
shown.
For
circ
le cutting the
cross bar should be up.

Us

Never let

ny liquid get inside the tool; never immerse

part

liquid.
Self
lubricating
bearings
are
used
in
the
tool
and
periodic
relubrication i

not required
. However,
it is recommended that.
once a
year,
you take or s end the tool to a B&O Service Center
for a thorough cle

ning,
inspec
tion and lubrication of the gear case.

Black & Decker warrants this product for one year against any
defects that are due to faulty material or workmanship. Please
return the complete unit, transportation prepaid, to the seller

pating retailer) for free replacement (proof of
purchase
may be required)

The unit may also be returned to a
Black
&
Decker Service Center or Authorized Service Station, listed under
"Tools Electric" in the yellow pages for free replacement or repair
at our option. This warranty does not apply to
accessories.

warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have
