This system remote control can "learn" the commands of other remote
control units, regardless of manufacturerer, as fong as the other unit
is of the infrared type.
In some cases you may still need the origina! remote contro! unit for
special situations, But as a rule, you will be able to use this Pioneer
remote for most system control needs, including video as well as audio
equipment.
NOTE:
When using the "LEARN" mode it is a goad idea to take the twa remote
control units to another room. This avoids problems such as sudden
high volume output or accidental tape erasure that may occur if
particular
infrared
command
signals
reach
your
components.
Alternatively, you may wish to unplug your component system. Simply
turning off the power may not be sufficient since power on/off switching
may also be remote controllable.

LEARNING KEYS
All the keys can be programmed. When newly program for each button,
any previous program on the button is erased.
In the AUDIO and VIDEO modes, the Pioneer unified remote control code
is already programmed. if your audio and video equipment consists of
Pioneer components, the remote cortrol unit can be used as itis. If you
wish to program functions which do not already exist in the memory,
use the LEARN function to program them, it is also possible to return
to the original Pioneer commands after programming other commands.

LEARNING CAPACITY
A maximum of 223 commands can be learned (About
150 commands
are adequate for Pioneer's remote control signal). More commands than
this can't be programmed even if there are keys which have not been
preset.
