TO SEARCH FOR A PARTICULAR PASSAGE
Manual Search — Search using fast forward or fast reverse
When using the SCAN buttons on the front panel or
remote control unit.

Normally Clear Scan is performed. To perform Low Scan and
High Scan , press DISP on the remote control unit to display the
screen and then press SCAN button. For about two seconds
after the button is pressed, Low Scan is performed, after that,
the unit enters High Scan,
Clear Scan mode : The image may not be fluctuated in this
mode.
Low Scan mode: Scan speed becomes about x10 the normal
playback speed.
High Scan mode: Scan speed becomes about x30 the normal
playback speed.
@ With CDs or audio part of CDVs, Clear Scan mode cannot
be carried out.
@ With video part of CDV, High Scan mode cannot be carried
out.
@ |n Clear Scan mode, when digital sound is selected with
digital audio discs, sound is heard at low volume level.
e With CDs or audio part of CDVs, sound is heard at low
volume level while scanning
@ Others: Sound is muted.

~ For fast-forward operation
SCAN
While rotating the SCAN control, playback advances or reverses
at high speed.
There are three scan modes which can be
selected with rotational angles of the control
Clear Scan mode: Slightly rotate the control.
The image may
not be fluctuated in this mode
Low Sean mode: Further rotate the control.
Scan speed
becomes about x10 the normal playback speed.
High Scan mode: Fully rotate the control at greater angle.
Scan speed becomes about x30 the normal playback speed.
Notes on CAV:
While scanning, noise may occur on the screen.
This is not
a malfunction.
Notes on CLV:
@ While scanning, the color of the image may fade out or
the image sometimes fluctuates.

e The scan speed is different between inner tracks and
outer tracks.

Disc tray numbers
Select a disc using the DISC NUMBER buttons on the pane!
or remote control unit. The player searches for the specifiec
disc and playback starts from the beginning of that disc
@ The disc numbers correspond to the disc tray numbers
