1 sec. (engraved in black on the shutter
speed scale of the camera) .
To determine the correct exposure when
using flash, refer to the Gu ide Number
( =
F-number x subject distance) which
will be furnished with the instructions
accompanying the flash unit and /or the
particular flash bulbs .

Compen sated by flash
Even in bright daylight, the use of a
flash is sometimes quite effective as an
auxiliary light source, to compensate
for a great difference in brightness be-
tween the subject and the background.
