The following table lists the error messages and other warnings displayed in the
monitor, as well as the solutions for dealing with them.

Error accessing memory

Memory card has not been
formatted for use in
COOLPIX S70.
Solution
Set date and time.
Prepare to charge or
replace battery.
Charge or replace battery.
Turn off camera, and allow
battery to cool down
before resuming use. After
five seconds, this message
will disappear, the monitor
will turn off, and the
power-on lamp and flash
indicator will blink rapidly.
• Refocus.
• Use focus lock.
Wait until message clears
from display automatically
when recording is complete.
Do not open the battery-
chamber/memory card slot
cover during recording.
Slide write-protect switch
to "write" position.
• Use approved card.
• Check that terminals are
clean.
• Confirm that memory
card is correctly inserted.
Formatting deletes all data
stored on the memory
card. Be sure to select No
and make copies of any
pictures which need to be
kept before formatting the
memory card. Tap Yes to
format.
